According to local media reports, the speedboat was carrying seven tourists, including five from India. The incident occurred at 1:15 a.m. on Friday near V Felidhoo Island in the Vaavu Atoll. The boat suddenly capsized, including rally driver Hari Singh. Three people were injured. The Coast Guard said the accident occurred about two miles from shore. Seven people were aboard the speedboat, including the captain and Gautam Singhania. These included five Indians, a British citizen, and a Russian citizen.
