All-rounder Shardul Thakur, who is out of the Indian cricket team, is currently performing brilliantly in domestic cricket. Shardul Thakur is playing the third quarter-final of Ranji Trophy 2024-25 against Haryana for Mumbai and in this match, he broke the back of Haryana's batting and took 6 wickets.
It was the effect of Shardul's strong bowling that Mumbai's team was also successful in taking a lead of 14 runs on the basis of the first innings. Mumbai's team had scored 315 runs before being all out in the first innings, in response to which Haryana's team was all out for 301 runs. Bowling brilliantly for Mumbai, Shardul took 6 wickets for 58 runs in 18.5 overs.
Thakur has been performing well with the bat and ball for quite some time now but the Indian selectors do not seem ready to move forward with him at the moment. Shardul was not even selected in the recently selected Champions Trophy team, whereas the rhythm he is in with the ball can prove to be an asset for the Indian team.
If we talk about Shardul's batting in this match, he scored 15 runs in the first innings. Right now Shardul has one innings each with bat and ball and he would like to not only play a role in his team's victory but also perform in such a way that the echo of his performance reaches the selectors. At present, there can be a change in the Indian team for the Champions Trophy till February 11, but it does not seem that the Indian team management is in the mood to make any change.
