RR Rajasthan Royals New Owner: The Rajasthan Royals team has been sold for US$1.63 billion. A consortium led by American businessman Kal Somani purchased the RR franchise for approximately ₹15,286 crore. KKal Somani also owns companies like IntraEdge, Academian, and Truyo. He is backed by American businessman Rob Walton, who comes from the prestigious Walmart family. According to reports, he has acquired a full 100 percent stake in Rajasthan Royals.This is the largest deal in IPL history, making the Rajasthan Royals the most expensive team in the Indian Premier League.After IPL 2026, the Rajasthan team will be managed by new owners. Kal Somani has been a shareholder in Rajasthan Royals since 2021. Discussions regarding this deal have been ongoing for the past six months.

Speaking of the Rajasthan Royals, they will be captained by Riyan Parag in IPL 2026. SSanju Samson, who captained the team last season, has now moved to the Chennai Super Kings.All-rounder Sam Curran has already been ruled out due to injury. Along with Curran, Ravindra Jadeja also joined the Rajasthan team as part of the Samson trade deal.

Before the deal was finalized, Manoj Badale held the largest stake in the Rajasthan Royals team. RRecently, the Rajasthan Royals received a $1.7 billion offer from Columbia Pacific Capital Partners, but declined due to execution issues.

Meanwhile, discussions are also rife about the sale of Royal Challengers Bangalore. CConsidering that the Rajasthan Royals were sold for over ₹15,000 crore, it's expected that the RCB franchise could easily surpass the $2 billion mark.
