Train Operations Halted at Prayagraj Sangam Station Due to Maha Kumbh Crowds

The Prayagraj Sangam railway station remains closed until February 26, 2025, due to the massive influx of devotees attending the Maha Kumbh festival. Authorities have announced that train services will resume from February 27. This temporary shutdown, a common practice during major religious events, aims to manage the overwhelming number of travelers. Police forces have been deployed at the station, and passenger entry has been restricted to maintain order.

Trains Diverted from Prayagraj Junction

Following the recent stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, authorities are exercising extra caution at Prayagraj Junction to ensure the safety of Maha Kumbh pilgrims. As a result, 15 trains, including the Lokmanya Tilak Express, have been rerouted.

Delhi Route Train Delays Due to Stampede Impact

Following the stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, several VIP trains were delayed, significantly impacting passenger schedules. The Vande Bharat Express, which was already rescheduled by two hours, reached Prayagraj Junction four hours late, causing inconvenience to VIP travelers heading to Maha Kumbh.

Additionally, the Prayagraj Express, one of the most important VIP trains serving Prayagraj, arrived a staggering seven hours late on Sunday, further disrupting travel plans.
