National Desk: A big news related to Aadhaar card has come out. Now private apps will also be able to access your Aadhaar card. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched a new portal Aadhaar Good Governance Portal for this. Earlier, access to Aadhaar was limited to papers only, but now it has turned into a digital process. Its main objective is that private apps and companies can easily get information related to the authentication process of Aadhaar, so that loans and other processes become even simpler.

What is Aadhaar Good Governance Portal?

The aim of Aadhaar Good Governance Portal is to automate the authentication process of Aadhaar. This will ensure whether the Aadhaar card is real or fake, whether the data is updated or not and whether any kind of tampering has been done. This portal will help in reducing fraud and make it easier to identify Aadhaar cards.

How will this portal work?

When a person needs authentication of Aadhaar, he will be able to enter the Aadhaar number on the app and enter the OTP received on the registered number, as is usually done during the loan. This is commonly called e-KYC. Similarly, when a photocopy of Aadhaar is used in any process, this process could be a little difficult, because the OTP process had to be done. But now this process will be easier. This will also reduce the delay in loans, health care, education and government schemes.

What will private apps and companies have to do?

Private apps will have to register on the swik.meity.gov.in portal to get Aadhaar authentication information. They will have to tell whether they are government, non-government or private institutions and why they need Aadhaar information, such as date of birth or address verification. Let us tell you that the government is also planning to add face authentication to this portal, so that the OTP process can be eliminated and the possibility of fraud is also reduced.
