Union Home Minister Amit Shah has broken his silence on the bold military action taken under Operation Sindoor, calling it a “fitting response” to the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
“We are proud of our armed forces. Operation Sindoor is India's answer to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam,” Shah said in his official statement. “The Modi government is fully committed to giving a befitting reply to any attack on India and its people. We will root out terrorism from its very foundations.”
The statement comes amid a nationwide wave of support for the Indian Armed Forces, which carried out the precision airstrike after midnight, targeting nine major terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
Key Highlights of Shah's Statement:
- A strong message to Pakistan: "India will not tolerate cross-border terrorism."
- Reinforcement of national policy: “No compromise on national security.”
- Clear intent: “Those responsible for Pahalgam will be held accountable.”
Army Clarifies: Measured and Targeted Response
In an official statement, the Indian Army emphasized that the operation was carefully executed, aimed solely at terrorist infrastructure, and did not target Pakistani military facilities.
“Our actions have been focused, measured, and non-provocative,” the Army’s statement read. “No Pakistani military installation was targeted. India has shown restraint in both target selection and execution.”
Strategic Strikes on Terror Infrastructure
According to the Army, the operation was launched in response to the 22 April Pahalgam attack, in which 25 Indian civilians and one Nepali national were killed. The Indian Air Force targeted nine key sites, including known hubs of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
This strike marks a clear shift in India's counter-terrorism doctrine — swift retaliation, precise targeting, and strategic messaging to both domestic and international audiences.
