The introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) into cricket will no longer be limited to data analysis. AI will now play a significant role in player selection as well. This rule has been enacted to increase transparency.

Artificial Intelligence
The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) is now going to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) in many important processes, from player selection to financial management. Giving this information on Friday, top MPCA officials said that under this new system, AI will analyze the performance of the players and make suggestions to the selectors, while the final decision will always be taken by the selection committee. MPCA President Mahanaryaman Scindia said while talking to reporters in Indore, "We want to eliminate any kind of potential bias in the selection process of the players. AI will recommend the selection of the players in the team based on their performance, while the final decision will be taken by the selectors."
According to the MPCA, this AI system will perform in-depth analysis of players' runs, wickets, and other performance data. Based on this, selectors will be given recommendations. If a player is selected or excluded based on a performance analysis other than the AI's suggested performance analysis, selectors will be required to record the reason. This will make the entire selection process more transparent and accountable than before.
The MPCA clarified that the use of AI will not be limited to player selection. The same technology will also be used in the application process for grants to district and divisional cricket units, document verification, expenditure monitoring, and financial management.
The MPCA president said the AI system has been tested in the Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 tournament. The plan is to implement it for district and divisional units before the new domestic cricket season begins in September.
Mahan Aryaman Scindia claims that the MPCA could become the first cricket organization in the world to implement an AI-based system at this level in sports administration. The MPCA has partnered with AI startup Emergent for this project. Mukund, the company's CEO, explained that for the past six months, his team has been working to integrate the MPCA's various administrative processes onto a unified digital platform. Mukund said, "The objective of our partnership is to digitize the entire sports administration process, thereby increasing transparency. We want to take this AI system to a global level."
