
Asparagus Plant Health Awareness : After the successful campaign on medical plants like Amla, Moringa, Giloy and Ashwagandha, the AYUSH Ministry has started a new campaign explaining the benefits of asparagus which is beneficial for health.

Asparagus Plant Benefits : To spread awareness about the health benefits of medicinal plants, Union Minister of State for AYUSH Prataprao Jadhav on Thursday launched a campaign 'Shatavari - for better health' under a species specific initiative. Asparagus plant cures many health problems. Its consumption reduces stress and anxiety, improves heart health, improves digestion, is beneficial for skin and hair, and is also helpful in boosting immunity.
'Asparagus - for better health' campaign launched
Prataprao Jadhav posted on the social media platform X. In the post, he wrote, Today I have started the 'Shatavari - for better health' campaign in New Delhi under the AYUSH Ministry. This campaign has been started keeping in mind the health of women, which is an important step towards the Panch Prana goal. The AYUSH ministry has grown in the last 10 years.
Boosting the agricultural economy
Prior to the efforts of the National Medical Plant Board, awareness campaigns have also been run on Amla, Moringa, Giloy and Ashwagandha. To promote the medical importance of asparagus and its agricultural economy, the National Medical Plant Board has provided financial assistance of Rs 18.9 lakh.
Tried to achieve PM Modi's goal
Prataprao Jadhav also emphasized the relevance of Shatavari in achieving the Panch Prana Goal as stated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech on the occasion of Independence Day on 15 August 2022. The Prime Minister has envisioned making the country a developed nation by India's 100th Independence Day in 2047. Under this mission, the Shatavari plant has been identified as a key resource for women's health care in India. This is linked to the broader goal of overall well-being of citizens.
