No action has been taken against corrupt employees in Maharashtra for years, shocking revelation in the report

Maharashtra News: Many employees convicted in corruption cases in Maharashtra have not been suspended yet. A report of the State Anti-Corruption Bureau has come out regarding this. Questions are being raised on the government after the report. 

Maharashtra News: In Maharashtra, many government employees who have faced investigation in several corruption cases since 2012 have not been suspended yet. Investigations were conducted against many employees in corruption cases from 1 January 2012 to 31 January 2025, but they have not been suspended yet. 

 

 

 

No investigation was conducted against the employees 

According to information revealed in a report of the State Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), from 1 January 2012 to 31 January 2025, investigations were conducted against 30 Class I, 29 Class II, 106 Class III and 8 Class IV employees in corruption related cases, but they have not been suspended yet.   

 

Many cases are pending 

The report was released on Saturday 15 February 2025. According to this report, the highest number of 46 cases were registered in Mumbai range while 38 cases were reported in Thane, 22 in Aurangabad, 18 in Pune, 16 in Nashik, 12 in Nagpur, 11 in Amravati and 10 in Nanded. At the same time, the highest number of 41 pending cases of suspension are from the Education and Sports Department, while 36 cases are pending in Urban Development 2 (Municipal Council and Municipal Corporation) and 25 cases are pending in Police, Jail and Home Guard Department. 

 

Questions raised on the government 

This report on corruption also says that 22 government employees convicted in corruption cases have not been dismissed yet. Most of them are third class officers. After this report of the State Anti-Corruption Bureau, many questions are being raised on the Maharashtra government as to why the accused of corruption have not been punished till now.
