What is Face Authentication?
Authentication refers to the process by which Aadhaar is verified with demographic information or biometric information of an individual. Under this, the complete information of the users is updated. UIDAI provides a face authentication facility to Aadhaar users as a process. Under this facility, the authenticity of the face of the Aadhar users is verified, that is, no one else can take advantage of your Aadhaar.
Face authentication is based on 1:1 matching, which means that the facial image captured during authentication matches the image of your face, which is stored in the repository, against your Aadhaar number.
How does Face Authentication work?
The face authentication feature works without OTP. To use this feature, you do not need to go to the Aadhar center, but you can download the Aadhar card from a mobile or laptop sitting at home.
Aadhar card will be downloaded like this
- To download Aadhar Card through Face Authentication, first of all, visit the official website of UIDAI, uidai.gov.in.
- After this click on the option of Get Aadhaar Card on the homepage.
- Now select the option of Face Authentication.
- But before clicking on it, you have to enter your registered mobile number and captcha.
- Now you have to verify your face.
- For face authentication, the laptop or computer's camera will open and scan your face.
- After scanning completely, your photo will be captured in this process.
- After the completion of this process, you can download your Aadhar card.
