Political parties are campaigning for the assembly elections in five states, including UP, amid a sharp rise in the Koro case.

In such circumstances, the Election Commission is considering banning large public meetings in five states as well as imposing strict restrictions on campaigning.

Sources said that the issue was discussed at a meeting of the Election Commission. The meeting was held on Tuesday. A total of 10 issues were to be discussed in the meeting. However, discussions on all the issues could not be completed. It is possible that strict restrictions may be announced by the Election Commission when the election dates are announced.

However, the Election Commission is not in favor of allowing only those who have been vaccinated against corona to vote.

The Election Commission will also hold discussions with the officials of the State Election Commission functioning at the state level.
