She was returning to Indore for Rakhi and birthday

Rakshita was coming from Pune to Indore for Rakhi on August 19 and her birthday on August 20. On the way, she got down at Dhule, bought diesel and set herself on fire. The Devpur police of Maharashtra handed over her body to the family after post-mortem, which was brought to Indore on Wednesday.

Last conversation and family's concern

Rakshita's maternal uncle Devesh said that she was placed after completing her studies from IET College in Indore two years ago. She had spoken to her mother before boarding the bus from Pune on Tuesday and told her that she had left and would reach by evening. Rakshita's father Mahesh Patidar has an Ayurvedic shop associated with Patanjali on Annapurna Road in Indore. The family suspects that something wrong has happened to her in Pune, as she did not have any illness and no marriage proposal was fixed.

The reason for suicide is still unknown

Police investigation revealed that Rakshita got off the bus at a check post and took a lift from someone and reached some shops 800 meters outside the city. There she asked for petrol from a biker, which the young man gave to her thinking that her car was not working. After this, Rakshita reached the side of the highway and set herself on fire. By the time the shopkeepers saw her, she was already engulfed in flames.

Police investigation and contact with family

After self-immolation, Rakshitha died and her body lay in the field for a long time. Locals informed the police, who identified her from her Aadhaar card. Meanwhile, when her phone rang, the family was informed. Maharashtra Police has seized mobile phone, inflammable substance kept in a plastic bottle, purse and other material from Rakshitha's bag. Police have called Rakshitha's family members to Maharashtra for statement and her friends and colleagues will be questioned in Pune.
