Muzaffarnagar Shock: Girl’s Burqa Forcefully Removed, Both Assaulted for Being from Different Religions

Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh — A disturbing case of communal intolerance has come to light from Gular Wali Gali in the Khalapar police station area, where a Muslim girl and a Hindu boy were assaulted in public. The incident, captured on video, has gone viral and sparked outrage online.

The girl, an employee of a microfinance company, had visited the area with her colleague, Sachin Saini—a Hindu youth—for routine installment collection. Sachin reportedly had a sacred thread tied on his wrist, while the girl was wearing a burqa. Seeing them together, a mob surrounded the pair, questioned their presence, and soon turned violent.

Mob Assaults the Duo, Strips Girl of Her Burqa

The crowd first beat up Sachin and then turned on the girl, forcibly removing her burqa and exposing her. The act was filmed by bystanders, and the video has since been circulated on social media platforms.

According to officials, several individuals involved in the assault are from the Muslim community. Following the girl’s complaint, police have filed a case and detained some of the accused while efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend others.

Police Promise Strict Action

CO City Raju Saav confirmed that the police are actively investigating the matter. “We have registered a case based on the victim’s statement and the viral video. Strict action will be taken against all those involved,” he said.

The incident has triggered widespread condemnation online, with users demanding justice for the victims and questioning the continued vulnerability of individuals in interfaith associations.
