Telangana Government Order over Ramadan: The holy month of Ramadan is about to begin and the Muslim community has started preparations for it. Meanwhile, the Telangana government has given relief to Muslim employees by reducing their working hours. 

Telanagana Government: The Congress government of Telangana on Monday issued an order allowing Muslim government employees to leave the office an hour early during the holy month of Ramzan. The BJP has strongly opposed this decision and has termed it as appeasement politics. It has also said that why is this only for Muslims, why is this not done for Hindus during Navratri?

What is the government's order?

According to the order issued by the Chief Secretary of Telangana, Muslim government employees, teachers, contract employees, outsourcing employees, board and public sector employees will be able to leave the office at 4 pm during Ramzan. This facility will be applicable from March 2 to March 31. However, if any emergency service is required, the employees will have to stay.

BJP attacks Congress

BJP targeted the Congress government over this decision and called it an example of Muslim appeasement. BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya wrote on social media that the Congress government gave relaxation in working hours for Muslim employees, but no such benefit is given to Hindus during Navratri.

'Congress sees Muslims as vote bank'

Malviya, head of the BJP IT cell, accused the Congress of seeing the Muslim community only as a vote bank. He said, 'This decision has been taken not to be sensitive towards the religious beliefs of any community, but to use them as a vote bank. This should be opposed.'

Preparations for Ramadan

Meanwhile, the Minority Welfare Department of Telangana has started special preparations for Ramzan in the historic Mecca Masjid and Shahi Masjid. Ramzan is the holy month of Islam, in which Muslims observe fasts, pray and try to make themselves better human beings by introspecting. The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated at the end of Ramzan.
