Mumbai Shock: Couple Caught in Obscene Act on Moving Bus, Video Secretly Recorded and Goes Viral

A disturbing incident from Mumbai’s Navi Mumbai region has sparked outrage after a couple was caught engaging in a sexual act inside a moving public bus on Sunday night. The incident took place aboard an AC bus operated by Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT), and a video of the act—secretly recorded by a bystander in another vehicle—has now gone viral.

Video Sparks Controversy and Disciplinary Action

According to a report by The Times of India, the couple, believed to be in their early 20s, were seated in the rear section of the bus when the incident occurred. A vehicle driving beside the bus reportedly captured the footage through the window, raising serious concerns about public behavior and passenger privacy.

Following the viral video, NMMT officials initiated departmental action against the bus conductor, citing failure to prevent the incident.

“The conductor has been warned and asked to explain in writing how such an incident occurred while he was present on board,” a senior NMMT official stated. Officials also noted that the conductor was seated at the front and claimed he was unaware of the situation unfolding at the back of the bus.

Activist Speaks Out

RTI activist Anranit Chauhan, who brought the issue to the administration's attention, said the bus was traveling from Panvel to Kalyan and was relatively empty. With traffic moving slowly, it gave someone in a neighboring vehicle the chance to film the incident, which was then forwarded to the authorities.

“Public transport is not meant for such acts,” Chauhan said. “It’s shocking and unfortunate that this happened.”

Administration Condemns the Incident

Although NMMC Commissioner Kailash Shinde could not be reached for comment, another senior administrative official expressed concern:

“Even if I don’t directly handle the Transport Department, I believe today’s youth should be mindful of how they behave in public. Such acts are not just inappropriate—they're illegal.”
