Now, news has emerged regarding Hardik Pandya, suggesting he and the Mumbai Indians may part ways. Trade discussions between MI and RR are still in their early stages.

Hardik Pandya played for the Mumbai Indians from his first IPL season in 2015 until 2021, but joined the Gujarat Giants as captain in 2022. After leading GT to the title in his first year, he led the team to the finals the following year (2023). However, he returned to MI in 2024, where the team replaced Rohit Sharma as captain, but Hardik was unsuccessful. In 2024, MI finished at the bottom of the points table, reached the playoffs in 2025, and finished 9th in 2026.
