Markets closed strongly for the second consecutive day, with these 7 stocks

Stock Market Today: Indian stock markets closed higher for the second consecutive day on Friday, October 3, 2025, the last trading day of the week. Strong buying in metal stocks and positive signals from global markets led to gains in both the Sensex and Nifty. The BSE Sensex closed at 81,207.17, up 223.86 points, or 0.28 percent.

During the day, it fluctuated 602 points, hitting a high of 81,251.99 and a low of 80,649.57. Similarly, the NSE Nifty rose 57.95 points, or 0.23 percent, to close at 24,894.25.

Shares of these companies jumped.

Among the Sensex companies, Tata Steel's stock closed with the highest gain of 3.40 percent. Power Grid, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, L&T, Bharat Electronics, and Bharti Airtel also saw strength. On the other hand, Tech Mahindra, Maruti, UltraTech Cement, and Bajaj Finserv declined. Among sectoral indices, the BSE Metal Index rose 1.85 percent, with Lloyds Metals & Energy, National Aluminum Company, and Jindal Stainless among the biggest gainers.

European and Asian markets are booming.

According to investment data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 1,605.20 crore on Wednesday, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 2,916.14 crore. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei closed with gains, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng was down. Stock markets in China and South Korea were closed for holidays. European markets saw gains in afternoon trade, and US markets also closed with gains on Thursday. Meanwhile, global oil benchmark Brent crude rose 0.86 percent to $64.61 per barrel.

Overall, strong buying by domestic institutional investors and gains in metal stocks supported the market. Although FII selling pressure and declines in some heavyweights weighed on the Sensex and Nifty, they closed the week on a strong note.
