Urination Posture: The question of whether to urinate while sitting or standing has long been debated. Let's explore which is more beneficial for men: standing or sitting.

Which method is correct to urinate while standing or sitting?
Men Sit Or Stand To Pee: If you're a hygienic person, you've probably told your partner at some point to pee while sitting to avoid dirtying the seat. However, some reasons have emerged that could actually change this habit. Generally, peeing while standing is perfectly normal for men. Their bodies are designed accordingly. However, some recent research suggests that sitting may be more beneficial for many men.
Which is correct to urinate while standing or sitting?
Nearly 7,000 men from across the world were asked a simple question: Do you pee standing up or sitting down? This survey generated so much discussion on social media that a urologist even advised that as men age, they should consider sitting down to pee. In Germany, 40 percent of men pee sitting down every time. In Australia, a quarter of men say so, while in America, only 10 percent of men have adopted this habit. In some countries, standing up to pee is considered correct, while sitting down is considered a habit of the weak. In German, the word Sitzpinkler is used for these people and is sometimes used to taunt them.
However, habits are changing. In Australia, sitting urination is becoming increasingly common among young men. 36 percent of men use this method, compared to only 20 percent of older men.
What is the right way?
If men are healthy, there's not much difference between the two methods. Research has found that urinating while sitting or standing doesn't significantly affect urination time, flow, or bladder emptying. This means that whether you urinate while sitting or standing is your choice. Just make sure your seat is clean if you urinate standing.
When does it matter?
For men who have urinary problems, such as a very light stream, intermittent urination, or a feeling that their bladder hasn't emptied completely, sitting or standing may be helpful. Some men experience better flow while sitting, while others find it more comfortable standing. In men with an enlarged prostate, standing urination often helps empty their bladder better. However, this doesn't apply to everyone, so a doctor's advice is essential.
