Mamata Banerjee On Mahakumbh: Mamata Banerjee has given a controversial statement regarding the Mahakumbh being organized in Prayagraj, on which the BJP has now surrounded her. The TMC leader said that the Mahakumbh is not being organized after 144 years. 

Mamata Banerjee On Mahakumbh: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had commented on Mahakumbh a few days ago and called it Mrityu Kumbh. Now once again the TMC leader has given a controversial statement on this. Mamata Banerjee said that Mahakumbh is not being organized in Prayagraj after 144 years. Now a strong reaction is coming to the fore regarding this. 

'Kumbh is not happening after 144 years....' 

Mamta Banerjee said, 'Mahakumbh is organized every 12 years. Those who are saying that it is happening after 144 years, it is absolutely wrong. As far as I know, it happened in the year 2014 as well. The claim of Kumbh being organized after 144 years is not true.' 

BJP took aim 

BJP has targeted Mamata Banerjee on this statement. The party said about the TMC leader that her selective statement exposes her anti-Hindu political agenda. Regarding this, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said, 'The repeated misleading statements given by her seem to be politically motivated.'

He said, 'There is an attempt to weaken and insult the sacred events of Sanatan Dharma, which is also influenced by their appeasement politics.' 

Maha Kumbh was called Mrityu Kumbh 

BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty has also criticized this statement of Mamta Banerjee. He said, 'Whatever she is saying is wrong. 70 crore people have come here and taken a holy bath. Is this wrong? People have seen the power of Sanatan Dharma.' Let us tell you that earlier on 29 January 2025, many people died in a stampede during bathing in Maha Kumbh. During this, Mamta Banerjee had questioned the government's arrangements regarding Maha Kumbh and called it Mrityu Kumbh. She had said, 'This is Mrityu Kumbh. I respect Maha Kumbh and Ganga Mata, but there is no planning here. How many people are there so far?
