CM Yogi said that buses without permit should not be allowed to run on the roads. Take effective action against illegal vehicles and overloaded trucks. Vehicles without permit coming from other states should be stopped at the border.
UP News: CM Yogi Adityanath chaired the meeting of the Uttar Pradesh State Road Safety Council at his official residence in Lucknow on Sunday. In the meeting, he gave necessary guidelines to effectively curb road accidents in the state. The CM said that to prevent road accidents, it is necessary that the meeting of the Divisional Road Safety Committee be held every month at the district level and quarterly at the divisional level.
The Chief Minister said that only one meeting has been held last year in 06 divisions of the state - Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Azamgarh, Saharanpur and Agra, there is a need to increase their number. During the meeting, ministers of the concerned departments, government level officials as well as all divisional commissioners, district magistrates, police commissioners and superintendents of police were present through virtual medium.

He said that over speeding, drunken driving, driving on the wrong side, jumping red lights and use of mobile phones are the main factors for road accidents. For this, there is a need to create awareness among the people. There should be no liquor shops on the side of expressways and highways. It has often been seen that the signage of liquor shops is very big, they should be made smaller.
CM Yogi said that buses without permits should not be allowed to run on the roads. Take effective action against illegal vehicles and overloaded trucks. Stop vehicles coming from other states without permits at the border. Establish communication with the Transport Association and Vehicle Association and ensure that there are two drivers on long distance vehicles.

In the meeting, he said that all the concerned departments related to road safety should control road accidents by making mutual coordination and collective efforts. Necessary steps should be taken by marking black spots on all the roads of the state. Make arrangements for hospitals like food plazas on both sides of all expressways. Also, deployment of trauma centers, ambulances and trained staff should also be ensured in the hospitals of all divisional headquarters.
