Benefits of ArdhaMatsyendrasana

ArdhaMatsyendrasana is also called Half Spinal Pose. It is a sitting spinal twist that helps in improving digestion and posture. This asana should be done in the morning on an empty stomach or four hours after eating food. When you remain in this posture, there is pressure on the stomach, which increases blood flow. The digestive system gets the right amount of oxygen, which removes the problem of acidity.

How to do ArdhaMatsyendrasana

  • Sit in a quiet place and sit with your legs straight on the ground.
  • Now straighten your waist and spine.
  • Bend the left leg and place the heel of the left foot next to the right hip.
  • Move the right foot over the left knee.
  • Place your left hand on your right knee and your right hand behind you.
  • During this, turn the waist, shoulders and neck to the right and keep your eyes fixed on the right shoulder.
  • Keep in mind that the spine has to be kept straight.
  • Stay in this position and keep taking deep, long breaths.
  • Now exhale and release the right hand, then release the waist, and sit relaxed.
  • Repeat this asana on the other side

Balasana

Balasana works to massage the stomach. Due to this, the digestive system works properly. The problem of acidity and gas gets cured.

How to do Balasana

  • Sit in Vajrasana and keep the spine straight.
  • Breathe in and raise both your hands
  • While exhaling, bend the waist forward while keeping the hands straight.
  • Bend so much that your forehead touches the ground.
  • Hands will also touch the ground, now remain like this for 30 seconds.
  • Then come back to Vajrasana and relax.
