Relation between diabetes and yoga
More than 10 crore people in India are affected by diabetes. Medicines are usually taken for this disease, but some yogasanas can also control the glucose level. A study conducted by AIIMS doctors on diabetes patients doing yoga for three months showed a decrease in HBVNAC (glucose level) with yoga. Based on this research, AIIMS has prepared a 50-minute yoga plan, which helps control the glucose level.
List of yoga postures
1. Margari Asana (Cat Pose)
– Sit in Vajrasana and place the hands on the thighs.
– Then stretch both hands forward and press the waist down while inhaling and pull the waist upwards while exhaling. Repeat this process 30-35 times.
2. Katichakrasana
– Stand straight and keep both feet hip-width apart.
– While inhaling, bring both hands forward and bend the waist to the right and try to touch the right corner with the left hand.
3. Ardha Katichakrasana
– While standing, bring the right hand in front of the body and then lift it up.
– While exhaling, bend towards Bavana and stay in this position for some time.
