We all have to face the problem of dryness of skin in winter. Cold winds take away the moisture of the skin somewhere. In such a situation, most people apply moisturizer on the skin again and again, but still, they do not get the benefit. This happens because, we make some such mistakes in the daily skincare routine, due to which the skin starts to look even more dry and flaky.

If you think that through body moisturizer or body lotion, you will deal with the problem of dryness of the skin, then you are wrong. For this, it is most important that you first avoid those mistakes, which you have been doing till now. So, today in this article, we are telling you about some such skin care mistakes, which can make the problem of skin itchiness worse in winter-

Use strong cleansers

When the cold season comes, then in such a situation, you should choose a cleanser for yourself very thoughtfully. Many times in this season we use strong cleansers, due to which the problem of skin irritation increases even more. That's why it's so important that no matter what your skin type is, you should start using a gentle facial cleanser. These gentle cleansers do not disturb the pH level of your skin, due to which there is no problem of irritation and itchiness in the skin.

Using alcohol-based products

Nowadays many types of alcohol-based products are available in the market. But it is not advisable to use such products in cold weather. These products make your skin even drier and more irritated. So, whenever you buy any product for yourself this season, do check its label once. Try to avoid ingredients like ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol, ethanol, and propanol, as these will dry out your skin too much.

Scrubbing the skin every day

This is a common mistake that people often do in this season. Since the skin looks dry and flaky in this season, we often use daily scrubs to make it smooth. However, by doing this the skin becomes even more sensitive and irritated. So try to exfoliate your skin only once a week. Also, while exfoliating the skin, use products like oats and honey, as they are very gentle on your skin. At the same time, it removes dead skin cells as well as moisturizes them.

Skipping Facial Oil

Most of us think that the best way to fight winter dryness is by using lotion or moisturiser. But when the mercury starts falling too much, then only the moisturizer is not able to maintain the moisture of the skin. In this situation, you must go a step ahead. In such a situation, you should make facial oil a part of your skincare routine. These deeply penetrate your skin and provide it with extra nourishment. Choose facial oil keeping in mind your skin type. For example, rose oil or almond oil can be used for oily skin.
