Winter has arrived. In this season, cold winds start blowing, and due to low temperatures, one feels cold. To avoid cold, people wear warm clothes in this season. Woolen clothes include many types of clothes like sweaters, mufflers, caps, woolen gloves, etc. These clothes have to be maintained with a little care because woolen clothes can get lint. Apart from this, the color of warm clothes fades quickly. Your new and branded sweaters start looking old due to a lack of proper maintenance. One reason for this is washing woolen clothes in the wrong way.

Often people make the mistake of washing woolen clothes just like summer clothes. This spoils the clothes. While washing winter clothes, special attention should be paid to some things. Here you are being told those mistakes that should never be made while washing woolen clothes.

Washing clothes with hot water

The use of hot water increases in winter. People use hot water for everything from bathing to washing utensils and clothes. However, washing woolen clothes with hot water is the biggest mistake. Wool is very sensitive. Washing it with hot water shrinks the fabric and the size of the clothes can become smaller. Apart from this, washing sweaters or other warm clothes with hot water can cause cracks in the clothes. Therefore, woolen clothes should always be washed with cold or lukewarm water.

Use of normal detergent
There is a lot of difference between the fabric of woolen clothes and other clothes. You can wash cotton or other fabric clothes with any detergent and soap, but woolen clothes are very sensitive. Use mild, soft, and liquid detergent instead of ordinary detergent to wash them. Wash woolen clothes by hand instead of washing machine.

Rubbing woolen clothes
Woolen clothes should be washed upside down. While washing and drying sweaters, jackets, etc., turn the clothes upside down instead of straight. This will prevent the clothes from coming in direct contact with detergent or sunlight and the colour of the clothes does not fade. Along with this, do not rub woolen clothes vigorously while washing them or twist them to dry them. Woolen clothes should be washed gently and the water should be squeezed out lightly.

Drying warm clothes with a dryer

First of all, try not to put woolen clothes in the washing machine. Along with this, using a dryer to dry clothes in winter is normal but do not dry warm clothes with a dryer. Hot air is harmful to woolen clothes. Dry the clothes in the sun but do not let the direct sunlight fall on them, rather cover light clothes over the sweater so that the direct sunlight does not fall on them.

Soaking clothes in water

Most people soak dirty clothes in water for some time to clean them. Woolen clothes should not be kept soaked in water for a long time. This spoils the clothes.
