An Aadhaar card is one of the required documents to avail of government subsidies and various government-run welfare programs in India. It is also considered an important identity verification document in various industries as it contains important information about citizens, including full name, permanent address, and date of birth, all provided by a unique 12-digit are associated with numbers.

The Unique Identification Authority of India introduced the concept of a Blue Aadhaar Card (Bal Aadhaar) in 2018. It is specially designed for children under 5 years of age.

Blue Aadhaar Card is of utmost importance in facilitating the inclusion of small children in government welfare programs. The main feature of this Aadhar card is that children below 5 years of age are not required to provide biometric data. Instead, their UID is processed using demographic data and a facial image linked to their parent's UID.

How to apply for a Blue Aadhaar Card (Baal Aadhaar)?

Visit the official website of UIDAI, uidai.gov.in, and

fill in the details in your nomination form.

Select the Appointment option for registration.

Find a nearby enrollment center and make an appointment there.

Select your (parents') Aadhaar, child's birth certificate, and reference number at the Aadhaar center.

After completing all the formalities, get an acknowledgment number to track the status.
