Here is a recipe for vegetable Manchurian:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 1/2 cup grated carrots
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/2 cup finely chopped bell peppers
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp red chilli sauce
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
For the sauce:
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tbsp finely chopped onions
- 2 tbsp finely chopped bell peppers
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp red chilli sauce
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1 tsp cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup water
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
-
In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped cabbage, grated carrots, chopped onions, and bell peppers. Add all-purpose flour, cornstarch, ginger-garlic paste, soy sauce, red chilli sauce, and salt. Mix well until you get a dough-like consistency.
-
Divide the mixture into small balls and shape them into balls. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the vegetable balls until they turn golden brown. Set them aside on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
-
To make the sauce, heat oil in a pan and add ginger-garlic paste. Saute for a few seconds and add finely chopped onions and bell peppers. Cook for 1-2 minutes until they turn slightly soft.
-
Add soy sauce, red chilli sauce, vinegar, and salt. Mix well.
-
Add cornstarch dissolved in water and stir well. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
-
Add the fried vegetable balls to the sauce and stir well. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the balls are coated well with the sauce.
-
Garnish with finely chopped spring onions and serve hot.
