When is Vat Purnima 2023

The full moon date of Jyeshtha month will start from 11.16 am on 3rd June, Saturday.

  • The full moon date of Jyestha month will end on June 4, Sunday, at 9.11 am.
  • According to UdayaTithi, the Vat Purnima fast should be observed on 4th June.
  • But due to TithiAkshay, the Vat Purnima fast will be observed on June 3.

Vat Purnima 2023 Shubh Muhurat

  • Vat Purnima means that on June 3, the auspicious time of worship will start at 7:16 in the morning.
  • Vat Purnima means that on June 3, the auspicious time for worship will end at 8.59 am.
  • The total duration for Vat Purnima Puja will be 1 hour 45 minutes.

Vat Purnima 2023 Puja Vidhi (Vat Purnima Puja Vidhi 2023)

  • Get up in the Brahma Muhurta and take a bath. Then married women should wear clean clothes and do sixteen adornments.
  • Go under the banyan tree and make idols of Savitri and Mother Parvati with cow dung.
  • If cow dung is not available then you can also use betel nut.
  • Wrap Kalava in two betel nuts to make the symbol of Savitri and MaaParvati.
  • After this, make a mixed paste with rice, turmeric and water and apply it on the palms.
  • Then imprint your turmeric-smeared palm on the banyan tree seven times.
  • Keep remembering your husband in your mind. After this offer water to the banyan tree.
  • Offer flowers, garland, vermilion, Akshat, sweets, melon, mango, fan and other fruits.
  • Then take dough puris and place 2 soaked grams in each puri.
  • Also, keep dumplings made of flour and jaggery along with gram.
  • After this, keep it in the root of the banyan tree. Then offer water.
  • Light a ghee lamp and incense in front of the banyan tree.
  • Tie a thread of white yarn or Kalava while orbiting around the tree.
  • It is auspicious to do parikrama 5, 7 or 11 times. After this leave the remaining thread there.
  • After this listen to the story of fasting with soaked gram in your hands. Then offer this gram.
  • After this, married women offer vermilion while remembering Mother Parvati and Savitri Devi.
  • Fill your demand 3 times by taking vermilion in the box from which you have offered vermilion to the banyan tree.
  • Finally, apologize for the mistake. On the next day, women observe the fast.
  • To break the fast, take a sapling of the banyan tree and 7 grams and consume it with water.
