Well, most people like to buy their vehicle. While many people buy cars, the number of people buying two-wheelers like bikes, and scooters seems to be slightly higher. At the same time, in big cities, people book bikes and taxis to go to offices, etc. At the same time, amidst all this, people also use carpooling. This results in lower costs for people who carpool. When more than one person has to go to the same place or different places falling on the same route, then these people book the same vehicle. In this, the fare is divided among the people traveling. However, this depends on the distance to their destination.
Where is the facility available?
There are many cab companies in India, which provide carpooling facilities to their customers. In this, you have to give information about your location to destination and then you can travel easily.
What does the law say about carpooling?
If we talk about carpooling from a legal perspective, it is not wrong to do so. However, this applies only to commercial vehicles. If you carpool with a private vehicle, it is illegal to do so.
Under Section 192 (A) of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 and Section 66 of the Central Motor Vehicle Act, if carpooling is done in a private vehicle, then it is illegal, and a challan is also issued for it and a challan of up to Rs 10,000 can be issued.
