If we leave aside electric vehicles, we need petrol and diesel to run other vehicles for which we have to go to petrol or CNG pump. Whereas, we need LPG gas to cook food on a gas stove, but do you know how petrol, diesel, and gas are made? Maybe not, but there is a complete process under which they are prepared. Usually, people only know that these things are extracted from the ground, but you can know here how they are prepared. So let us know how petrol, diesel, and LPG gas are prepared. You can know its complete process in the next slides...

We will know about the process of making petrol, diesel and gas, but before that let us know what is the most important thing to make these things. The most important thing for making things like petrol, diesel, and gas is crude oil, which people also call crude oil.

How is petrol-diesel and gas made?

If we tell you in simple words how petrol-diesel and gas are made, then know that the refining process is used for this. For this, there are refineries at different places, where this entire process is done. In this process, crude oil is broken down into different components called hydrocarbons.

This is the method of making petrol.

Many processes like distillation, cracking, reforming, and alkylation are used to make petrol, diesel, and gas. In such a situation, when petrol is made, petrol is separated from crude oil during distillation. After this, it is mixed with different compounds, which increases its quality and then petrol is ready.

How is gas made?

First of all, talking about gas, when crude oil is sent for the refining process, it is broken down into different components. At the same time, in the first stage of refining crude oil, other natural gases like petroleum gas are released and this petroleum gas is filled in LPG cylinders.

This is how diesel is made.
Now talking about the process of preparing diesel, know that diesel is made from heavy hydrocarbons and diesel is also made from a distillation process like petrol. Crude oil is hydrotreated several times, due to which sulfur and other impurities are removed from it and then diesel is prepared.
