Indian Railways works to transport a large number of passengers to their destinations every day. For this, you have to book a train ticket and then you can travel by train. Here you also get comfort seats, AC facilities, toilet facilities, and catering facilities. But one thing that is seen on the occasions of festivals is that it is not possible to get a confirmed ticket on the train quickly and that too especially on the occasions of Chhath and Diwali. At the same time, people book train tickets to go to their homes. But if you too are not getting a confirmed train ticket to go home on Chhath-Diwali, then you can adopt a method. You can learn about this in the next slides...

What does the rule say?
Even if you do not have a confirmed train ticket, you can still travel by train. Yes, because the rules of Indian Railways say that if you have a waiting train ticket, then you can travel by train.

Actually, as per the rules, you must have a waiting ticket to travel by train. But this waiting ticket should be only a window waiting ticket. If you have a waitlisted ticket booked online, you cannot travel on it.

Also, know why you cannot travel on waiting train tickets booked online. This is because under the rules this ticket is not valid and is considered a canceled ticket. If you want, you can cancel it and get a refund.

TTE can't stop
If you want to travel with a window waiting ticket, TTE cannot stop you from traveling. Not only this but if any seat remains vacant after the chart is prepared, then you can talk to the TTE and travel by sitting on that vacant seat.
