What to do in case of a gas leak?
First job
Whenever there is a gas leak, take care not to light the match by mistake, and also do not open the light switch. If you do so, a fire may result. Just open the doors and windows of the house carefully, so that there is no suffocation due to gas inside.
Second job
In case of gas leakage, you should immediately switch off the regulator, which stops the gas leakage. But if it doesn't, then you should remove the regulator from the cylinder and put the safety cap on the cylinder. This stops gas leaking.
Third job
When your gas cylinder is leaking, inform your gas agency. Tell them that the cylinder given by them is leaking gas. After this, your cylinder is replaced by the agency. Just keep in mind that while taking the cylinder, get the leakage checked.
Fourth task
If for some reason the cylinder catches fire after leaking gas, then you do not have to panic at all. You have to soak a thick sheet or blanket in water and wrap it over the cylinder. By doing this the fire can be extinguished.
