As seen in the last few times, the trend of online transactions has increased a lot. In India, people prefer to do online transactions for almost every small and big thing. Online transactions are done through UPI i.e. Unified Payments Interface. Now almost all banks in India provide UPI facilities. You can send money to anyone's account by entering their UPI number or scanning their UPI QR code.
Transactions through UPI take only a few seconds. But many times people accidentally send money to the wrong number and the money goes to the wrong account. If this happens to you too, then you do not need to worry at all. You have to follow the methods mentioned. Your money can be returned to your account within 24-48 hours. Let's know what is the process for this.
Talk to the account holder to whom the money is being sent
If you transfer money to a wrong number through UPI, then you can call that number and ask the person to return the money. You can also show him the screenshot. Although the chances of getting the money back in this way are less, you can try. Because in some cases it has been seen that people return the money.
Talk to UPI and bank customer care.
If you have sent money to the wrong number. Then you should contact UPI customer care. Whatever payment app you use. For example Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or any other. You have to tell its customer care complete information and share the details. Apart from this, you can call your bank's customer care and tell your complaint.
Complain to NPCI
National Payments Corporation of India i.e. NPCI has also issued a toll-free number for customers. For this, you have to call 1800-120-1740 and tell them about your case. And register a complaint. Apart from this, if you want, you can also register your complaint by visiting the official website of NPCI https://www.npci.org.in/.
