Mother Vindhyavasini sits on the flag during Navratri
Vindhyachal situated at a distance of about seven km from Mirzapur is considered to be the middle point of India geographically. The northeast corner of the Vindhya mountain is considered to be in the Vindhya region only. It is believed that Maa Vindhyavasini resides at this angle, where the river Ganga flows touching the Vindhya Mountains. It is believed that even today during the days of Navratri, Maa Vindhyavasini sits on the banner to give darshan to the devotees.

The glory of Maa Vindhyavasini
It is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths in the country. Here three goddesses are seen within a radius of three kilometers. In the center of this pilgrimage, Mother Vindhyavasini is sitting on the Kalikhoh hill. Maa Ashtabhuja and Mahakali Devi reside near them on another hill named Ashtabhuja. In other Shaktipeeths, different parts of the Goddess are worshiped in symbolic form. Vindhyachal is the only Shaktipeeth where one can see the entire deity of the Goddess. This goddess situated on the triangle instrument takes the form of Mahalakshmi, Mahakali, and Mahasaraswati for the benefit of the people.

Vindhyavasini Mata is the presiding deity who destroys the demons named Madhu and Kaitabh, situated in the Vindhya Mountains. It gives desired fruits to its worshippers. Lakhs of devotees gather here during the Navratras of the month of Chaitra and Ashwin. This fact is also confirmed by Shri Durga Saptashati that Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh also worship Bhagwati with motherhood. Only then they can arrange the universe. Here every year on the Shashthi Tithi of Jyestha Shukla Paksha, the birth anniversary of Mata Vindhyavasini is celebrated with great pomp. This data is also called Aranya Shashthi.
