Indian Railways provides facilities for medical help in case of illness in a running train. Also, many times passengers have to face such problems due to weather changes. For example, change in the environment during the winter season, summer season or rainy season affects the health of some passengers.

Doctors are available on some trains, especially long-distance trains. You can get information about the doctor by contacting TTE on the train. Under this, doctors can provide you with first aid and necessary medicines.

Call Railway Helpline Numbers

Railways has provided 24x7 helpline numbers for passengers. The helpline number of Indian Railways is 139. This number is available in 12 languages. Train-related information can be obtained by calling number 139 or sending SMS. By calling 139, passengers can get information about train enquiries, PNR status, and availability of tickets (normal and tatkal), train arrivals and departures. By calling 139, passengers can get security-related information, medical emergency, train accident related information, train related complaints, general complaints, vigilance related information, freight fare, parcel related information, status of complaint, vigilance at any station and corruption. You can get information about your complaint, and how to talk to a call centre officer.

By calling number 139, passengers can get information related to PNR, fare and ticket booking. By calling number 139, passengers can get information at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To call the number 139, passengers can opt for the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) or directly connect with the call center executives. Apart from this, you can also get help on railway security helpline number 182.

If he becomes unwell, he can call a doctor by paying Rs 100.

This facility is available in all types of trains, passenger, and mail and express. To avail of this facility, the passenger will have to inform Railway Helpline 138, TTE or Guard. TTE will immediately send a message to the control room and ask for a doctor at the next station. After the train reaches the next station, the railway doctor will examine the passenger.

Under this facility, the doctor's fee is Rs 100. The cost of medicines will have to be paid separately. Apart from this, after the treatment, the staff will take Rs 100 from the passenger and make an EFT i.e. Access Fare Ticket and give the slip. If there is no provision for a railway doctor at the station, then after the consent of the passenger, he will be dropped at the station and sent to the nearest government hospital. Passengers used to call doctors even if they had minor problems. Because of this, Railways has increased the fees. In case of a medical emergency on the train or to complain to the Railways, one has to dial 139 from the mobile phone. After this, the steps mentioned have to be followed.
