Warm-up

Whenever you are doing your biceps workout, you must do a warm-up first. When you do this, blood flow in the muscles improves. Due to this, the possibility of muscle injury is significantly reduced. Not only this but by doing warm you are also able to lift weight properly. Before the biceps workout, you can do light cardio, arm circles and dynamic stretches as a warm-up.

Train your arms first

If you do full-body exercises in your workout routine, then try to train your arms first. Especially if you want big biceps, this is even more important. Generally, it is seen that people work on their big muscles first and then on their small muscles. Many studies have shown that the muscles that are worked first have to be worked harder. Due to this, those muscles grow better. A study conducted in Brazil found that men who trained biceps and triceps first had twice the arm strength.

Train from different angles

Doing dumbbell curls while doing a biceps workout is considered best. But when a biceps workout is done from different angles, the muscles become more active and you get a better shape. A 2019 study from the University of Tampa showed that performing biceps routines at a different joint angle is more beneficial, even if you use the same weight. For example, instead of doing three sets of bicep curls in the same manner, each set involves mid-range, extension, and contraction at different angles.

Do different exercises

Although doing dumbbell curls is best for the biceps, still you must include isolation exercises and compound exercises in your workout. Isolation exercises like bicep curls and hammer curls directly target the biceps, while compound movements like chin-ups and pull-ups target not only the biceps but also the back muscles.
