In the summer season, you too must have taken out your lovely dresses. You too will be ready to dazzle in sleeveless dresses, but are you embarrassed by your dark underarms? The colour of the underarms tends to be a bit dark and this is due to friction. However, apart from this, there are many reasons why the underarms can become dark.

Dermatologist AanchalPanth is very active on social media and she explains the reason behind it in one of her posts. She says that the skin of the underarms is usually a bit dark. Yes if the difference is too much then you have to know the reasons behind it and only then it can be treated.

Come, through this article, apart from knowing the reason for dark underarms, we will also know about their treatment from them.

Why are there dark underarms?

  • Underarms also turn dark due to friction. Similarly, rubbing, scrubbing, wearing tight clothes and obesity also causes it.
  • Waxing also darkens your underarms. When hair is pulled due to wax, that area becomes dark due to ingrown hair.
  • Deodorants that contain alcohol irritate the skin, thus darkening the complexion.

What things should be avoided-?

  • Avoid frequent waxing.
  • Reverse shaving should also be avoided.
  • Repeated scrubbing darkens the area, so it should be avoided.
  • Avoid wearing tight clothes. Wear loose clothes, especially in summer.
  • Avoid using deodorants, especially roll-ons.

Do these treatments for black underarms-

  • Use a moisturizer containing lactic acid and moisturize the skin well.
  • Use a glycolic acid-based cream at night. It will help in removing the dead skin layer and reduce the darkness. Use it for 3 months to see the results.
  • The cream which contains kojic acid and alpha arbutin along with glycolic acid helps in reducing the darkness.

Keep these things in mind-

  • If you have done underarms waxing, then you do not have to use this mixture immediately. This can give you a rash.
  • If there are already pimples on the underarms, then first wait for their recovery and use this home remedy only after they are completely cured.
  • You do not have to rub this mixture vigorously on the underarms, it can cause wounds.
  • If you have not removed underarm hair, then you do not have to use this mixture. This mixture can get stuck in the hair and it can be difficult to remove it.
