Disadvantages of taking too much vitamin A

  • Consuming too much Vitamin A can cause partial hair loss. Chapped lips and dry and rough skin may occur.
  • Liver damage can occur due to excess Vitamin A. Liver injury or liver damage may occur.
  • Taking high doses of Vitamin A can lead to severe headaches and weakness. Bone and joint pain is common. There may be a risk of fracture, especially in older people. There may be a lack of appetite in children.
  • Women going through menopause should also consume Vitamin A in limited quantities. Because this increases the risk of osteoporosis.
  • Excessive consumption of Vitamin A can cause irritability, headache, nausea and vomiting. It may cause blurred vision. This also hurts mental health.

How much vitamin A should be taken?

  • An adult male needs 700 micrograms of vitamin A every day.
  • A woman needs 600 micrograms of vitamin A throughout the day.
