Mithila Shakti Peeth

This temple is located in Darbhanga, Bihar. Mithila Shakti Peeth, located on the Indo-Nepal border, is one of the most revered temples in Bihar. This temple is one of the 52 mythological Shakti Peethas, as the left shoulder of Goddess Sati fell here. A large number of people come to this temple to have a darshan and to fulfil their wishes.

Jal Mandir

Made of white marble, this temple is one of the most revered pilgrimage centres for the Jain community. Dedicated to Lord Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara, Jal Mandir gets its name because the temple is in the centre of a water body. This temple is one of the best temples in Bihar because of its excellent architecture.

The temple is located at Pawapuri in Nalanda district in Bihar, just 19 km from Rajgir and about 100 km from the capital city of Patna. According to legend, Lord Mahavira attained salvation here and the water temple is located at the exact spot where the epitome of non-violence attained nirvana. The temple has the "CharanPaduka" of Lord Mahavira.

Baidyanath Temple

This major temple located in Bihar is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This Baidyanath temple of Deoghar is one of the most prominent twelve Shiva temples around the world. Baidyanath Temple in Bihar is believed to be the place where Ravana worshipped Lord Shiva according to the Hindu mythological epic of Ramayana. Lord Shiva is worshipped in this temple as a medical specialist.

Janaki Temple

There are very few temples in India that worship Goddess Sita as the main deity. However, the Janaki temple of Sitamarhi town is very special in this regard. According to the Ramayana, Lord Rama, after leaving Sita in the forest, returns to take her back to his kingdom. Till then Goddess Sita returns to the lap of Mother Earth.
