WhatsApp recently launched its standalone app for smartwatches running Google's Wear OS. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook-parent Meta, announced the launch of the WhatsApp app for Wear OS.

The app was announced at Google I/O in May and has been in beta since then. The app lets users send and receive text and voice messages, as well as emoji and quick replies, right from their wrists. Let us know how it can be set up.

How to set up WhatsApp on your Wear OS smartwatch
Before proceeding with the setup process, make sure your smartwatch is running Wear OS 3 or later. Next, make sure the WhatsApp app is installed on both your Android phone and smartwatch. Please note that apps on your phone don't automatically sync to your Wear OS watch, so you'll need to install WhatsApp manually.

You can follow these steps
Turn on your smartwatch and press the Power button.

Tap on the Play Store icon.

Scroll to and select "Apps on phone".

Find WhatsApp and tap "Install".

Keep in mind that your phone and smartwatch are connected.

Open WhatsApp on both devices.

On your smartwatch, you'll see an eight-digit code.

Enter this code at your phone's pairing prompt to complete the setup.

Voice message record
Users can record, share as well as listen to voice messages on their WearOS smartwatches using WhatsApp.

Will be able to use without a smartphone
If the watch has cellular connectivity, the WhatsApp app will work without the smartphone being connected to the Internet. This means that the watch version of the app will continue to send or receive messages even when the phone is turned off.

Will be able to give smart-reply
Typing on a watch is not as smooth as on a smartphone. To make things easier, WhatsApp has some pre-defined replies like ok, fine, thanks, etc. that you can use.
