Cyber Crime Apps: Cyber criminals are trying new ways of hacking to trap people. These fraudsters make every effort to avoid security checks and insert their apps into Android phones and are succeeding as well. One such case has come to the fore again. Two file management apps have been detected as spyware on the Google Play Store, putting the privacy and security of 1.5 million Android users at risk. It has been found that these apps secretly send users' sensitive data to malicious servers in China.

Mobile security company Pradeo has disclosed this matter. The report shows that both spyware apps, File Recovery/ Data Recovery (com.spot.music. file date) have more than 1 million installs, and File Manager(com.file.box.master.gkd) have more than 500,000 installs.

According to Pradeo's report, analysis has revealed that both apps were collecting users' data from the device itself. This includes information such as the phone's contact list, email, social network, media, real-time location, network provider name, SIM provider's network code, operating system version number, and device brand and model.

Pradeo's analytics engine has found that many personal details are collected by these apps without users' knowledge.

Android users how to be safe?
1) First of all users have to uninstall these apps from their phones.

2)Cyber security firm Pradeo suggests that you should be careful while downloading Android apps that have no reviews. Even if they have thousands of users, avoid downloading them.

3) If there is a review then you should read it carefully as it helps in understanding the app.

4) Before accepting the permission, know about the app properly.

5) To avoid such threats, your phone should be kept secure with anti-virus software.

6) Lastly, it is very important that you keep your Android phone updated with the latest security patches.
