Well-known tech company Meta has announced that in the coming time, users using different platforms of the company will soon get notifications. In this notification, you will get the option to decide whether they want to share any of their information in different services of the company or not.
The main reason for this update of the company is the European Union, which has implemented some important changes to crack down on social media platforms. Users using Facebook will get some special security updates. Let us know about it.
Users will get new updates
New information has come out, in which it has been revealed that the European Union is going to give some special options to users using Instagram and Facebook in the EU, EEA, and Switzerland. Under these options, users can manage their experience in meta products.
Meta said in its blog post that we are introducing these options to meet the requirements of DMA, which will be done in March 2024.
Will be able to unlink Facebook and Instagram
Meta also said in its post that the company has given two options for those who have already chosen the option to connect their Instagram and Facebook accounts.
Under this, they can continue to connect their accounts through our Account Center, so that their information can be used on their Instagram and Facebook accounts.
Additionally, they can also manage their Instagram and Facebook accounts separately so that their information is no longer used across accounts. Simply put, they can be unlinked.
Changes made for Facebook Messenger also
Apart from this, Meta has also made some updates to Messenger, under which Facebook Messenger users can continue using Facebook Messenger with their Facebook account.
Apart from this, if they do not want to take this option, they can also create a stand-alone new Messenger account, which will not include their Facebook-related information. However, this messenger will allow you to use private messaging and chat, voice and video calling. In the coming weeks, these people will start getting information related to this.
