Ingredients for Suji Uttapam
Semolina - 1 cup
Curd - 3/4 cup
Tomato chopped - 1
Cabbage chopped - 1/2 cup
Chopped capsicum – 1/4 cup
Green chili - 1
Green coriander - 2-3 tbsp
Ginger grated - 1 tsp
Baking soda - as needed
Rai - 1/4 tsp
Oil – 2-3 tbsp
salt - as per taste
How to make Semolina Uttapam
To make Tasty Suji Uttapam for breakfast, first of all, put semolina in a big utensil. Now add curd to semolina and mix both of them well. After this, add a little water to this mixture and prepare a batter-like batter for pakoras. Now add finely chopped green chilies, grated ginger, and salt as per taste to this solution and mix it well. After this, cover the batter and keep it aside for 15 minutes so that the batter can swell.
Now finely chop capsicum, cabbage, tomato and put them in a bowl, and mix them. After the fixed time, take the batter and add baking soda to it and mix it. If the batter seems too thick, then you can add some water to it. Now take a nonstick pan/tawa and heat it on medium flame. After the griddle is hot, pour some oil on it and spread it all around. Put a little mustard in it and spread it.
Now take the batter for uttapam and when the mustard seeds start to crackle, pour 2 bowls of uttapam batter and spread it in a circular motion. Now put chopped vegetables, tomato, cabbage, and capsicum over the uttapam and spread it evenly. Put some green coriander on top. Now put some oil around the uttapam and cook the vegetables by pressing them on the uttapam with the back of the ladle. Roast the uttapam till it turns golden brown, turning it from both sides. Tasty uttapam is ready for breakfast. Similarly, prepare semolina uttapam from all the batter. Serve it with coconut chutney.
