Due to late marriage, stress, and unhealthy lifestyles, the fertility of men has become a serious concern. To conceive, the sperm count should be more than 15 million per milliliter of semen. If it is less than this, it is considered a low sperm count.
In such a situation, if you are experiencing sexual dysfunction, testicular-related problems, and changes in body and facial hair growth, then it can be a sign of low sperm count in your semen. It is said that this usually happens due to these reasons, which men repeat several times a day.
Smoking
Smoking cigarettes is very common in men. But smoking is not only harmful to the lungs but also to reproductive health. Studies have found that men who smoke have low sperm count and its motility is also affected.
Alcohol consumption
In today's time, boys have started consuming alcohol from an early age. Without knowing that the habit of drinking too much alcohol affects the fertility of men. Men who regularly consume more alcohol have a decrease in testosterone levels, which does not produce enough sperm. This not only reduces the number of sperm but also reduces their motility.
Stress
Taking too much stress increases the level of stress hormones like cortisol in the body, which can affect the production of testosterone. This can lead to a decrease in sperm count. Therefore, it is important to adopt stress management techniques such as yoga, meditation, and physical exercise.
Unhealthy foods
Diet can also affect fertility. Consuming fast food, sugar, and fatty foods can lead to inflammation and weight gain in the body, which affects sperm production. Lack of vitamins and minerals, especially zinc, selenium, and folic acid, can also negatively affect sperm quality.
Staying in extreme heat
For men, excessive heat in the lower part of the body can also affect sperm count. In such a situation, it is advisable to avoid long hot baths, tight underwear, and working with a laptop on the lap. Otherwise, there is a risk of damage to the sperm due to the increased temperature of the testicles.
