In such a situation, there is a need to know and understand how justified is the increasing use of smart watches day by day?
In fact, to a large extent these days smart watches are also being used as a fashion statement. To show themselves stylish, youth especially like to wear smart watches. In such a situation, it becomes important to know about the impact of smart watch on health. Are you playing with your health in the name of fitness and style? Therefore, in this regard, we talked to Dr. Satish Kumar working at King George Medical University, Lucknow and learned from him about the side effects of smart watch.
Our health expert Dr. Satish Kumar says that smart watch is an electronic device and hence dependence on such gadgets in the name of health or just for style is not right. In fact, smart watches emit electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation, which is harmful to health both directly and indirectly. Many types of physical and mental problems arise due to the radiation emitted from smart watches.
Harmful to mental health
Nowadays, all types of smart watches have started coming in the market and in order to make the price cheaper, their quality has also started deteriorating. At the same time, the risk of radiation from poor quality smart watches increases even more. The radiation emitted from smartwatches directly affects the nervous system, due to which the risk of memory loss, headache and brain tumor increases. The radiation emitted from smart watches can also increase the problem of migraine.
Anxiety and insomnia problem
While the radiation emitted from smartwatches directly harms your mental health, it also indirectly has a negative impact on the mind and brain. Actually, these electronic devices which measure heartbeat, blood pressure and steps are causing mental stress to the people. The watch that takes care of your health every moment is actually like a handcuff tied on your hand, which keeps giving you mental stress by keeping track of your breathing.
The statistics of electronic devices sometimes disappoint you, like every day you walk less, you start getting angry after seeing the count of your steps. At the same time, keeping track of your heartbeats from moment to moment puts you in mental confusion, due to which problems like insomnia and anxiety can occur.
Negative impact on fertility
Yes, let us tell you that the radiation emitted from smartwatches and fitness gadgets also affects fertility. In this regard, Dr. Satish Kumar explains that prolonged exposure to such radiation can reduce fertility in both men and women. While in men it may cause low sperm count, in women it may cause difficulty in conceiving.
Possibility of bacterial infection
Excessive use of smart watch also increases the chances of bacterial infection to a great extent. Actually, smart watch straps are usually made of rubber cloth or leather and bacteria named Staphylococcus spp are often present in such straps, which causes the risk of staph infection. This type of infection can take the form of boils to serious problems on the body. Therefore, to avoid this, you should clean your smart watch regularly.
Pay special attention to these things while wearing smartwatch
Our health expert Dr. Satish Kumar says that if you want to avoid the disadvantages of smart watch, then you should keep some things in mind while wearing it. For example, you should not wear a smart watch the whole day, use the fitness watch only during work or workout during the day. When you are not using it, you can keep it on airplane mode, so that its wireless connection gets disabled. With this, the effects of radiation can be avoided to a great extent and the damage caused to the smart watch can also be avoided.
