We all use a variety of products to moisturize our skin. Among these, body butter is very popular, which helps in keeping your dry skin hydrated in a better way. Body butter is of slightly thick consistency and hence gives you deep hydration.

But do you know that body butter should not be used in every season? Especially, one should avoid using body butter during monsoon. If you use body butter regularly in this season, then you may have to face many problems. So, today in this article we are telling you about some disadvantages of using body butter during monsoon-

Skin remains sticky

Monsoon season humidity increases very much. On the other hand, the consistency of body butter is thick. Due to this when body butter is applied on the skin, it does not get absorbed quickly in the skin. Due to this, your skin may feel more oily, sticky or greasy.

Clogged pores problem

Body butter can be quite heavy on the skin. If you apply it in excess or if you apply it on your acne-prone skin in monsoon then it can clog your pores. Additionally, it can also cause skin irritation or breakouts.

Increased risk of fungal infection

Due to the humidity during monsoon, the risk of fungal infection increases significantly. However, if you use body butter in this season, then this problem can increase even more. If you do not take full care of body hygiene and apply body butter on the area where sweat accumulates, then you may complain of fungal infection.

May be an allergic reaction

Many times fragrance etc. is used in body butter and hence if body butter is applied on sensitive skins then the risk of allergic reaction increases considerably. The chances of an allergic reaction increase significantly during monsoons due to the humidity.

Body odour problem

When you use body butter to moisturize the skin in monsoon, then you may also have to face the problem of a bad smell. Body butter doesn't get absorbed quickly into the skin and in this case, it can mix with the sweat coming out of your body which can make you feel even clingier. Also, it can cause a bad smell in your body.

Stain clothes

In monsoons, body butter can prove to be harmful not only for your skin but also for your clothes. Body butter does not get absorbed quickly in the skin during monsoon. In such a situation, the oil and butter present in the body butter gets stained on the clothes which becomes very difficult to clean later.

So now you too should apply lotion or gel-based moisturizer instead of body butter to keep the skin hydrated during monsoon.
