The festival of Shardiya Navratri starts on 15th October. During this nine-day festival of Navratri, devotees come from far and wide to visit the Shaktipeeths of Mata. There is great respect for the darshan of Mata Shaktipeeth during Navratri.

According to the scriptures, Shaktipeeth is the holy place where the pieces of the body parts of the Goddess had fallen. There are 51 Shaktipeeths of Mata present across the country.

There are a total of 51 Shaktipeeths of Mata in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Bangladesh, Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Nashik of Maharashtra, Birat of Rajasthan, Sri Lanka, Tibet, Odisha, Nepal, Guwahati of Assam, Located in places like Kolkata, Kurukshetra in Haryana, Patna in Bihar and Pakistan.

But in today's article, we will tell about those famous Shaktipeeths of Mata, which are famous in India.

Kamakhya Temple, Assam

This temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. Here the vaginal part of the mother i.e. the womb had fallen. The temples are situated on the Neelachal Hills in the city of Guwahati, Assam. It is situated near Dispur, the capital of Assam, at a distance of 6 kilometres from Guwahati.

A huge fair is organized here during Navratri along with Durga Puja. If you go to Kamakhya Devi temple, you will not find the idol of any mother here.

But here in the temple courtyard, a flat rock in the form of a vagina will be seen. Devotees come from far and wide to worship him. This place is also known as Yoni Kund.

Ambaji Shaktipeeth, Gujarat

Mother's heart fell in this temple. No idol of the Mother Goddess is worshipped here; rather a Shri Chakra is worshipped here. This grand temple made of white marble is the centre of attraction for the devotees.

The peak of this temple is 103 feet high. Garba is organized in the temple on the occasion of Navratri.

To reach the temple you will have to climb 999 steps. If you are planning a visit here, you will have to take a flight to Ahmedabad's SardarVallabhbhai Patel International Airport, which is 86 kilometers away. You can come by train to Abu Road Railway Station, which is 20 kilometers from here.

Brajeshwari Temple, Himachal Pradesh

In this temple, the Mother Goddess is present in the form of a Pindi. Here the right breast of Mother Sati had fallen. Along with this, it is believed that when the Mother suffered some injuries in the battle with Mahishasura, she came here and applied butter on her body. There is a different custom of offering Prasad to the Mother Goddess in the temple.

Here in each part, Prasad is offered to the Mother Goddess differently, like the first part is offered to Mahasaraswati, the second part to Mahalakshmi and the third to Mahakali. That is why there are three Pindis in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.

You will be surprised to know one thing apart from Hindus and Sikhs, Muslims also offer flowers with faith in the temple. The three domes of the temple are a symbol of this.
