The festive season has started. Recently, Shardiya Navratri has ended, after which people celebrated the festival of Dussehra with great pomp. After this, like every year, this year the festival of Sharad Purnima will be celebrated.
According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the full moon day of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. This year both Udaya Tithi and the time of moonrise of the full moon are falling on 28th October, hence Sharad Purnima will be celebrated on 28th October only.
The festival of Sharad Purnima is considered incomplete without Kheer. It is believed that on this night the rays of the moon are like nectar, hence people prepare kheer as Prasad and keep it under the open sky so that the kheer also becomes nectar. Everyone's way of making this kheer is different. In such a situation, you can make delicious kheer at home and offer it to God.
Kheer making equipment
Rice – 1/2 cup
Milk – 4 cups
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Saffron – a few threads
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Dry fruits
Method
First of all, wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 20-30 minutes. Now filter the soaked rice with water and keep it aside.
Milk
Now pour 4 cups of milk into a pan and let it boil. When the milk boils, add rice to it and cook on medium flame. Keep stirring the rice continuously.
When the rice becomes completely soft, add sugar, saffron, and cardamom powder to it and mix well. After this, cook the kheer for another 5-7 minutes.
Kheer will taste better if cooked for a longer time. Lastly, add dry fruits to the kheer. Your kheer is ready. Now turn off the gas keep it aside and offer it to God.
