Shahi Paneer is a popular Indian dish that is creamy, rich and packed with flavor. Here's an easy recipe to prepare restaurant-style shahi paneer at home:

Ingredients:

  • 250g paneer
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 green cardamom pods
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Instructions:

  1. Cut the paneer into small cubes and keep them aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, green cardamom pods and cloves to the pan. Sauté for a few seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add finely chopped onions and ginger-garlic paste to the pan. Cook until the onions turn golden brown.
  5. Add tomato puree to the pan and cook for a few minutes.
  6. Add red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and salt to the pan. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  7. Add paneer cubes to the pan and mix gently.
  8. Add heavy cream to the pan and mix well.
  9. Cook the paneer for 2-3 minutes or until the gravy thickens.
  10. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with naan, roti or rice.
