State Bank of India (SBI) has started a new facility for the customers. Bank customers can enroll in various social security schemes using their Aadhaar card number. Information about this was given in the press note issued by the bank on 25 August. SBI customers do not need a passbook for registration in social security schemes.
Aadhaar card is required for registration
Now customers visiting SBI's Customer Service Centers (CSP) will need an Aadhaar card for registration in social security schemes. SBI's advanced system makes the registration process fast. This will make this work more convenient than before. It was told in the press note that SBI's Customer Service Center (CSP) are kiosk that provides the facility to SBI customers to do transactions.

The aim is to provide convenience to the customers by reducing the paperwork.
Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) is life insurance. Account holders in the age group of 18 to 50 years can buy this policy. As per the website of the Department of Financial Services, it has a live cover of Rs 2 lakh and the annual premium is Rs 436. This premium is auto-debited from the bank account of any person.
