Sawan 2023: This year i.e. in 2023, the month of Sawan is going to be even more special because due to Adhikamas, there will be a total of 8 Sawan Mondays in the year 2023. There is great importance of fasting in Sawan. During this, some methods of fasting have been told, by adopting which you get the full result of fasting.

Start fasting like this
Take a bath by adding Ganga water to the water in the Brahma Muhurta on the day of Monday's fast in Sawan. After this take a vow of fasting by wearing clean clothes. Perform Jalabhishek by adding Ganges water to the Shivling at home or temple. Then offer Panchamrit to Lord Shiva. Make Tripuna with three fingers of right hand on Shivling with white sandalwood, offer other worship material. After fasting, do worship of Lord Shri Ganesha, Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati and Nandi Dev. After this, listen to the story of Monday fast.

This is the worship material
Water, milk, curd, sugar, ghee, honey, panchamrit, moli, cloth, janeu, sandalwood, roli, rice, flowers, belpatra, hemp, aak-dhatura, kamal gatta, prasad, betel nut, cloves, Cardamom, dry fruits, dakshina are offered.

Don't eat these things
Milk, sugar, curd, oil, brinjal, leafy vegetables, onion, garlic, salty or spicy food, sweets, meat and alcohol should not be consumed in the month of Shravan. One whose physical condition is not good, excitement increases by fasting and there is a possibility of breaking the fast if he keeps the fast, he should not fast. Fasting or fasting remains fasting till sunset and salt is not consumed, only consumption of rock salt is valid.
